Roosendaal man admits to sexually extorting nearly 200 underage girls

Kevin B., 34, from Roosendaal, admitted in court to sexually extorting nearly 200 underage girls, marking one of the largest online sexual extortion cases in Dutch history, BN DeStem reports. The case came to light after the parents of one victim in Rotterdam filed a report two years ago. The charges against Kevin B. include assault, seducing minors into lewd acts, and large-scale possession and distribution of child pornography.

The admissions were made during the second preparatory hearing in Breda, where Kevin B. appeared in person. “Yes. I am very sorry. Especially that I did not seek help sooner,” he told the court when asked if he understood the charges. When the judge asked if he had targeted victims by age, he responded, “Not actively.” Asked whether his motivation was financial or sexual, he said, “I have had all the time to think about it, but I have not come to an answer.” A large police team arrested B. in August at his home, seizing computers and other devices.

Authorities say B. contacted girls via Snapchat, posing as a peer, and promised them money in exchange for sexually explicit images. The victims were sometimes coerced into inserting objects such as pens or hairbrushes into themselves, and some were instructed to perform these acts together. B. allegedly threatened victims by claiming he knew their addresses or would harm their families if they did not comply.

Investigators have seized material showing extreme pornography, including sadistic content. The seized content has so far identified 195 victims, including 88 confirmed minors. At least 17 girls have formally contacted lawyers involved in the case, with more expected.

The suspect has been in custody at the Penitentiair Psychiatrisch Centrum in Vught for six months, undergoing psychiatric and psychological evaluations. Reports are expected in April.

The case, named “Lotus” by authorities, involves extensive review of seized material, victim identification, and categorization of images by age. Prosecutors have been granted permission to include more charges than usual in this complex investigation, which has reportedly placed significant demands on the sex crime teams of the Dutch Public Prosecution Office.
