Gelderland police investigate second Shell robbery this week
Gelderland police are investigating two armed robberies at Shell gas stations this week, the latest hitting Culemborg on Friday evening.
The Culemborg incident occurred at 8:00 p.m. on Lanxmeersestraat. Multiple police units responded, and a helicopter hovered over the area while authorities set up a crime scene and interviewed witnesses, De Gelderlander reports.
No one sustained any injuries, according to the station owner. “The employees acted properly, exactly as they should. Of course, they were very shaken,” the owner said. It remains unclear whether a weapon was used or what, if anything, was stolen. No arrests have been reported.
Earlier this week, a Shell station on Nieuwe Tielseweg in Tiel was also robbed around 7:00 p.m. A staff member was threatened with a firearm. Police have also not disclosed whether anyone was injured or what was taken.
Authorities are asking anyone with information or camera footage related to either robbery to contact them immediately.
