Search resumes for 19-year-old with intellectual disability
At 10 a.m., the Missing Persons Coordination Platform, aided by volunteers, resumed the search for 19-year-old Mick from Helmond. The Missing Persons Coordination Platform has also urged residents of Asten to remain vigilant. Mick has blond, short, wavy hair and is about 180 centimeters tall.
Mick, who has an intellectual disability, was last seen around 3 a.m. Friday at his home on the Edelhertlaan/ Edelhertstraat, in Helmond. Police say he likely left on foot, wearing only a red or pink T-shirt and short athletic shorts. He also wears glasses. There is currently snow in Helmond, with temperatures around 3 degrees.
Police have received several tips suggesting he may have been seen Thursday near Ommelseweg in Asten, more than 7 kilometers from his family home. Police are continuing to search in both Helmond and Asten.
Police and Mick’s family say they are deeply concerned about his well-being. “We will continue searching for as long as possible,” a police spokesperson told RTL Nieuws.
Police earlier urged residents to check sheds and other outbuildings in case the young man may be sheltering there.
