Minor boy hurt in Rijswijk shooting; Seven suspects arrested
A minor boy was injured in a shooting in Rijswijk on Monday afternoon. The police arrested seven suspects, some of them children. Investigators are looking for witnesses.
The police received multiple reports of a shooting on Boogaardplein at around 4:10 p.m. on Monday. Officers found the injured boy at the scene. First responders stabilized him before an ambulance took him to a hospital for further treatment.
The Telegraaf and AD reported that the shooting happened at De Bogaard shopping center and that the victim ran into the KFC to hide. A police spokesperson could not confirm that to NU.nl.
Police officers searched the scene and arrested seven suspects. Investigators released one after questioning, but the others are still in custody. They are suspected of involvement in the shooting.
The police have released no information about the victim’s identity, only calling him a minor boy. The police said the suspects were minors and adults. According to NU.nl, the minors are teenagers around 15.
The investigation is ongoing. The police asked any witnesses and anyone with relevant footage from security, doorbell, or dashboard cameras to come forward.
