Boy, 17, hurt in shooting in Rozenburg home; Father arrested
A 17-year-old boy was badly hurt in a shooting in a home on Bosseplaat in Rozenburg early Friday morning. A 43-year-old man was arrested as a suspect. Sources told Rijnmond that the suspect is the boy’s father.
The police confirmed the victim's and the suspect’s ages, but not their relationship.
According to Rijnmond, the boy was seriously injured in the shooting. First responders were unable to carry him down the stairs and had to call in the fire brigade to lift the boy to ground level with an aerial platform. Emergency services rushed him to the hospital
The circumstances around the shooting are unknown. The police are investigating.
Sources also told Rijnmond that the police raided this same home last year, arresting the 17-year-old boy for firearm possession.
