One dead, one injured after barn collapse in the village of Bellingwolde in Groningen

A person was killed and another injured when a barn collapsed in the village of Bellingwolde in Groningen, police reported. The injured individual was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Four people were inside the barn at the time of the collapse, NOS reported. Two of them were examined at the scene and did not require hospitalization.

The barn had reportedly been in a state of disrepair for some time, and fences were placed around the property, indicating awareness of its poor condition.

Authorities have not yet determined the exact cause of the collapse. Investigators are continuing to examine the site to establish how the structure failed.
