Man arrested after beating woman who confronted teens over fireworks in Raamsdonksveer

Police in Noord-Brabant arrested a man on Friday afternoon, suspected of assaulting a woman who had been walking her dog in Raamsdonksveer earlier this week. According to NOS, the suspect attacked the woman after she confronted a group of teenagers lighting fireworks.

The incident occurred on Monday when the woman approached the youths to address their behavior. Shortly afterward, one of them allegedly assaulted her. Videos of the beating were later shared widely on social media.

Following the spread of those recordings, personal details of both the suspect and the victim were circulated online. The man from Raamsdonksveer was later tracked down by a group of people and violently attacked.

Police said they understand that “incidents like this can stir strong emotions — people want justice, and that is understandable. But violence is never the solution.”
