Police say kidnapping of Hoofddorp woman is linked to drug trade dispute
Police report that the abduction of a 49-year-old Hoofddorp woman is tied to a conflict in the drug trade. The woman remains missing, and investigators believe she may have been taken to "pressure" others involved in the dispute.
Authorities have recently arrested a sixth suspect in connection with the case: a 29-year-old man from Beersel, Belgium. Five other men were previously arrested, including two 37-year-olds from Almere and three men aged 17, 20, and 24 from Rotterdam and Amsterdam.
The woman was last seen on Wednesday at 8:30 a.m., leaving Mosselplaat in Hoofddorp in her car on her way to work. She never arrived, and her vehicle was later found in the Getsewoud-Noord neighborhood of Nieuw-Vennep.
Police are working with investigators in other countries but have not disclosed which nations or the nature of the collaboration, citing the need to protect the investigation.
