Three hurt in random overnight stabbing in Amsterdam; Two men remain at-large
Three people were injured in a stabbing and assault at Mercatorplein in Amsterdam-West, police said. The attack occurred shortly before 3 a.m. when a man left a local bar to retrieve his bicycle. Two unknown men approached him and struck and stabbed him multiple times.
A second victim came outside to help and was also assaulted and stabbed. Shortly afterward, a woman inside the bar approached the scene and was struck by the same suspects. The attackers fled toward Hudsonstraat. All three victims were taken to a hospital for treatment of their injuries.
Police described the first suspect as a man in his early 30s, about 6 feet 5 inches to 6 feet 9 inches tall, with light brown skin and short black hair, dressed entirely in black. The second suspect is a man of similar age, approximately 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, with light brown skin, short black hair, and wearing light-colored clothing.
