Boy, 15, severly hurt in shooting at Amsterdam playground
A 15-year-old boy was seriously injured in a shooting at a playground in Amsterdam-Zuidoost on Thursday evening. The police are investigating.
Responding officers found the injured boy in the playground on Tulastraat. Paramedics treated him at the scene before rushing him to a hospital by ambulance.
According to the police, a witness reported hearing a group of young people arguing outside at around 9:30 p.m., followed by a bang they believed was a gunshot. It is not clear what the argument was about.
The police have launched an investigation and are looking to speak to witnesses or anyone with relevant information or camera footage.
This is the second boy shot in Amsterdam-Zuidoost in an area where kids should be playing this month. On August 7, 17-year-old Rivaldo was shot dead at a football field on Meernhof in Holendrecht. A 16-year-old boy is in custody for his death.
