Rotterdam teen injured in stabbing outside youth shelter

A teenage boy was injured Saturday night in a stabbing outside a shelter for young asylum seekers and at-risk youths on Noordsingel in Rotterdam-Noord, Rijnmond reported. The incident occurred around 11:00 p.m., and authorities confirmed the victim was rushed to a hospital with serious injuries.

Police arrested a suspect at the scene following the attack. Rijnmond's 112 emergency services correspondent reported that the stabbing followed an earlier argument between the parties involved.

Footage from the scene shows officers recovering the knife used in the assault from a planter near the entrance of the building. Police have not released additional details about the identities of the victim or the suspect.

Authorities said the investigation into the incident is ongoing. Police have urged anyone with information about the stabbing to come forward.
