Police seek BMW driver posting videos of himself speeding through Dutch town on Instagram

The police are looking for a BMW driver posting videos of himself speeding through the Limburg town of Hoensbroek. According to the police, the motorist is driving with one hand while filming with the other. One video shows him driving 148 kilometers per hour in a 30 zone, the police said on Facebook.

In one video, the driver reaches speeds of 180 km/h on Julianaweg, also driving on the wrong side of the road at one point.

In another video, which has been taken offline, he’s driving at 148 km/h on Nieuwstraat, which has a speed limit of 30 km/h. In that trip, the motorist also sped along Monseigneur Hanssenlaan, Deken Lendersstraat, Burgemeester Slanghenstraat, and Heerlerweg.

The police believe the man is driving a dark blue BMW 135i. “The driver drives with one hand and films himself with the other, “ the police said. “This driving behavior will not be tolerated.”

The police called on the motorist to turn himself in, also asking witnesses or anyone else with information about the man to come forward.
