Woman arrested in connection with fatal stabbing in apartment building in Sneek
Police arrested a 32-year-old woman from Sneek for possible involvement in a fatal stabbing in the city in Friesland that occurred on Tuesday evening. The victim was also from Sneek. She was 39 years old at the time of her death. A 31-year-old man was also arrested in the nearby area. His involvement is still being investigated, police say.
It was reported by police that somebody had passed away during a stabbing incident at around 11 p.m. on the Furmerusstraat near Noorderhoek II. The victim was found lying in the gallery of an apartment building. She died at the scene of the crime.
According to the Leeuwarder Courant, the victim is Sasha Nikolaeva Nencheva. The Bulgarian woman was living with her 15-year-old daughter, with another child living with the child’s father.
A resident in the apartment complex has said that Nikolaeva Nencheve was in a relationship with the 31-year-old man, who lived a floor below her. He was also arrested after the incident. The resident claims that their relationship was a troubled one. “Sometimes the windows were smashed. I often saw police come by.”
The Leeuwarder Courant reported that an argument occurred on Tuesday evening between Nikolaeva Nencheve and the 32-year-old woman who lived on the sixth floor. Residents claimed that Nikolaeva Nencheve had a knife with her, which could have led to her being stabbed by the woman before her boyfriend assaulted the woman. The suspect in the stabbing was also injured when she was arrested.
