Police in The Hague still looking for persons of interest in fatal shooting
Police are still looking for any witnesses of a fatal shooting that occurred on April 18 in the Laakkwartier in The Hague. A 21-year-old from The Hague died of his injuries sustained as a result of the shooting on Friday evening. One arrest was made on Sunday in connection with the incident, according to police regional crime watch show Team West.
The incident occurred at 7:50 p.m. on the corner of the Paets van Troostwijkstraat and the Oudemansstraat. The victim was rushed to hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries there.
The shooter committed the crime while sitting in the passenger seat of a black Citroen C1. The car has been found, but the detective team has said that they want to speak to anyone who saw the vehicle during the day. “It was Good Friday. A lot of people were off work, and it was the beginning of the weekend. We think there would have been plenty of witnesses,” they said to Team West. Police still have unanswered questions about the car’s escape route.
The investigation into the suspect’s role in the killing, a 21-year-old from The Hague, is ongoing. Police are not ruling out any more arrests. It was reported on Friday that the victim was likely not picked at random.
