Eindhoven residents quickly return home after overnight fire

Residents of an apartment building in Eindhoven were able to return home quickly after being evacuated overnight due to a fire in a storage unit beneath their homes. The fire, which broke out in a warehouse used by a nearby hospitality business on Kruisstraat, was swiftly contained and did not spread to the apartments above.

While the immediate danger has passed, police have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire. Witnesses reported seeing a person fleeing the scene, and the storage unit’s door was partially open when firefighters arrived. "We have heard those accounts as well, and we are investigating the reports," the spokesperson said.

Emergency services responded rapidly to the fire. "The fire was quickly brought under control, and residents did not have to stay out of their homes for long," a police spokesperson said Saturday morning.

Firefighters have not yet determined what sparked the blaze, and authorities are considering the possibility of arson. "There are cameras in the area, and we hope to access them today," the spokesperson added.
