Series of explosions in Noord-Brabant, injured and houses damaged
A 50-year-old woman was seriously injured at a home on Onsenoortsestraat in Nieuwkuijk in Noord- Brabant on Friday night. An explosive detonated at the front door of the home around 2:30 a.m, the police reported. The resident was in the hallway in front of the front door at the time and was injured in the legs. She was taken to hospital.
According to the police, the attack was deliberate. An investigation team has been working on the case since Saturday morning to investigate the incident. On Friday night, investigations were carried out in the woman's apartment to look for traces of the perpetrators. The police interviewed several witnesses. In addition to camera recordings, which should help in the case, an extensive neighborhood search has also been initiated.
Another explosion took place In Deurne, Noord- Brabant, around 03:20 a.m. on Friday. This happened at the front door of a house on Roothaertstraat. There were no injuries, but there was a lot of damage. Among other things, the door was dislodged and the letterbox was broken. According to the police, the explosive was pushed through the letterbox. CCTV footage shows someone detonating the explosive and then running away towards the center of Deurne.
Furthermore, in Geldrop, near Eindhoven, an explosive went off at around 04:30 a.m. near a parked car in the Ter Borgsstraat. No one was injured. The explosive was so powerful that car parts were scattered all over the street.
Police are investigating the series of explosions.
