Netflix European headquarters in Amsterdam raided in tax fraud investigation
Authorities raided the offices of Netflix in the Netherlands and France as part of an investigation into tax fraud, the French authorities told Reuters. The searches happened on Tuesday morning, a spokesperson for the Dutch Public Prosecution Service confirmed to ANP.
The Dutch police searched the streaming giant’s European headquarters in Amsterdam, while the French authorities raided the company’s offices in Paris. It is unclear whether anything was seized or any arrests were made.
A French source told Reuters that the Dutch and French police have been working together on this investigation for “many months.” ANP reported that the investigation started in November 2022.
Reuters’ source didn’t say exactly what the American streaming service was suspected of or what prompted the raids.
Netflix has not yet commented.
