Child, 2, injured in fall from Spijkenisse balcony

A two-year-old girl fell from the balcony of a home in Spijkenisse, Zuid-Holland, on Wednesday afternoon. The child was rushed to hospital after the fall.

The incident happened just before 5 p.m. on the Krekelveen. The police are investigating how it happened and are looking for witnesses.

Nothing has been reported regarding the girl’s condition. However, a spokesperson for the police said that the fact that she was rushed to hospital says something about the severity of the injuries.

Many young children were injured due to falling out of a window in the Rotterdam region last summer. This happened in Delfshaven and Rotterdam-West in August. Young children in Rotterdam and Vlaardingen were also injured at the end of July.

All these cases were accidents, the police said in August.
