Parent, 2 students arrested for threatening teachers, insulting police at Limburg school
The police arrested a 45-year-old man at the Gresscolege in Reuver, Limburg, on Monday for incitement and threats. Two students were also arrested, L1Nieuws reported. The school remained closed on Tuesday after multiple incidents in which parents threatened school employees on Friday and Monday.
The arrests were made on Monday evening after a “threatening situation” occurred at the school in the afternoon, a police spokesperson told the regional broadcaster. “This concerns a long-running conflict between students that is taking place at the school,” the spokesperson said. The police would not comment further on the ongoing investigation.
The man was still in custody on Tuesday afternoon, the two underage students had been released. The kids were arrested for insulting police officers who responded to the Grescollege due to the threatening situation on Monday.
De Limburger reported on Tuesday that the two days of threats were sparked by a student refusing to put away their phone in class on Friday.
