Zwolle rapper arrested for faking assassination attempt
The police arrested rapper Makka from Zwolle for faking an attempted assassination on himself. He is accused of "provoking public violence", weapon possession, and making a false declaration, RTV Oost reports.
The fake attack happened in August in front of the rapper's house in the Zwolle district of Stadshagen. Two masked men knocked him to the ground and threatened him with a firearm. At first it seemed that Makka escaped with his life because the weapon would not fire. But after their arrest the two suspects told the authorities that the attack was not real - Makka asked them to stage an attack on him and even supplied them with the weapon, after he had removed the bullets.
The court found the suspects' statements believable and acquitted them of attempted murder or manslaughter. They were convicted of public violence and firearm possession, receiving a sentence of a few months' jail time.
