Gunman identified in Delft criminal's assassination

The police believe that Hells Angels member Errol Janssen was the man who shot and killed criminal Karel Pronk in Delft last month. The police are looking for him and released his photo to the public on Tuesday to aid in this search.

Pronk was gunned down in broad daylight outside coffee house Het Kalf on Kalverbos in Delft on August 7th. Jansen, who also goes by the name Mick van der Laan, was last seen in Delft on that day, the police said. Since then there's been no sign of him.

The police think Janssen may be hiding abroad, likely with other members of the outlaw motorcycle gang. "He has a very striking appearance, mainly characterized by tattoos in his face. On his left cheek is the birth and death date of his deceased wife. This is surrounded by several tribal-shaped tattoos. His neck, arms, chest and back are covered with tattoos." The police added that the released photos may be dated and that Janssen may have gotten new tattoos in the mean time.

Investigators would like to talk to anyone who may have information about Janssen's whereabouts. If you spot him, do not approach him yourself, the police warn. Instead contact the police at once.

Last month a 28-year-old man from Delft was arrested for involvement in Pronk's murder. He was released a few days later, NU.nl reports. According to the Public Prosecutor, the man behaved oddly in the vicinity of the crime scene, but investigation revealed no indications that he was involved with the crime.

Pronk was well known in the criminal underworld. In 1991 he was sentenced to 20 years in prison for provoking the murder of an orchid grower from Rijswijk. He twice escaped from prison, during which security guards were taken hostage.
