Armed robbery sends multiple police units to Nunspeet bungalow park
An armed robbery at bungalow park De Witte Wieven in Nunspeet sent large numbers of police officers searching the surrounding woods on Thursday night. No one was injured. According to the police, there were two or three suspects and two people were arrested, NOS reports.
A SWAT team, police dogs, a helicopter and multiple police vehicles responded to the bungalow park on Thursday night. A large part of the holiday park, which consists of a few hundred bungalows, was closed down for the search and investigation.
What exactly happened is not clear. Witnesses told Omroep Gelderland that at least one shot was fired in a robbery at a bungalow near the park owner's home. Yvonne Govers, the owner of one of the bungalows, told the broadcaster that the police took two men and a woman away. The owner of the park, his family and the owner of the robbed bungalow were also taken to the police station, she said. "The police entered the house and are doing investigation there. There is plenty of speculation about what happened."
On Thursday night a police spokesperson confirmed that the park owner and the owner of the robbed bungalow were at the police station "to help with the investigation", according to NOS. On Friday morning the police could not confirm whether any shots were fired in the incident.
