Pedestrian hit by truck in Amsterdam

A pedestrian was hit by a truck on the corner of Van Hogendorpstraat and Groen van Prinstererstraat in Amsterdam's Staatsliedenbuurt on Wednesday morning. The pedestrian - an elderly woman according to a witness - was seriously injured, AT5 reports.

The accident happened around 8:30 a.m., Het Parool reports. According to the police, the victim was immediately rushed to hospital. Her current condition is unknown.

The police are investigating what happened. It is possible that the truck driver did not see her.
