Employee stabbed in Assen mental health office

An employee of mental health service GGZ Drenthe was seriously injured when a woman attacked and stabbed her in the GGZ headquarters on Dennenweg in Assen on Wednesday. The victim was rushed to hospital. According to GGZ Drenthe, her condition is stable, AD reports.

The suspect is a 44-year-old woman from Assen. Other people in the GGZ headquarters managed to overpower her and she was arrested. She had a knife and pepper spray on her.

According to GGZ Drenthe, the perpetrator was not receiving treatment at the institution.

The police are investigating.
