Cops shoot man with toy gun in Doetinchem

The police shot a man carrying what turned out to be a toy gun through the city of Doetinchem early on Tuesday morning. A local resident recorded a video of the incident.

Police officers responded to reports of a man walking around the city center with a gun at around 1:15 a.m. on Tuesday, according to NOS. At the scene, they found the man carrying what seemed to be a firearm.

The video shows police officers ordering the man to put down the weapon. He only does so after a police officer shot him. An officer approaches and kicks the gun away, and shouts "toy weapon, toy weapon".

The wounded man was taken to hospital for treatment.
