Police: No further announcements on bodies found in Weert

The police will make no further announcements about two persons who were found dead in a home in Weert on Monday "out of respect for the loved ones", the police said in a statement. The victims were identified as a 44-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman who lived in the home on Graafschap Hornelaan.

According to the police, investigation ruled out a crime "involving a third person". The investigation was therefore closed.

Police officers were sent to check the home around 9:30 a.m. on Monday after receiving a report that the two victims had not shown up for work. Their bodies were found in the home.

On Monday afternoon the authorities said they were "seriously" taking into account that a crime was committed or that this was a case of suicide, according to newspaper AD. This seems to indicate that the victims weren't killed in an accident.
