Belgian mother calls for information on missing son; Disappeared in NL in 2013

A Belgian mother is calling on people in the Netherlands to please help her find out what happened to her missing son, Jelle Leemans, who disappeared almost four years ago. The police believe that the Belgian man was killed, but his body has never been found. "I need to know what happened to him and where he is", the woman said in an emotional call on RTL Boulevard.

The then 27-year-old Leemans left for what is believed to be an appointment for a drug transaction in Roosendaal on November 21st, 2013. He was never seen or heard from again. The police believe he fell victim to a rip deal.

His mother acknowledges that this is likely the case. "He met people who were in the drug environment", she said to RTL on Wednesday night. According to her, the young man was obsessed with making money. "The money went to his head. Jelle wanted to make money quickly. He was trusting and very naive. But he knew what he was getting into. I don't want to condone it."

What complicates matters is that Leemans never discussed what he was doing in the drug world with anyone. "He was very open, but in that he kept everything to himself."

The mother calls on anyone who may have information about her son to contact the police, anonymously if they have to. "I need to kow what happened and where he is. And how it happened. They must find him."
