Murdered woman, 18, found in Lelystad water was missing for a week; Two men arrested
The police arrested two men for involvement in the death of 18-year-old Ryan al Najjar from Joure. The young woman’s body was found in the water along the Knardijk in Lelystad a week after she disappeared from her hometown.
Al Najjar was last seen in Joure on May 22. Her body was found in the water along the Knardijk in Lelystad on May 28. She had been killed in a crime.
The police started a large-scale investigation, which led them to two suspects - a 22-year-old man from Joure and a 24-year-old man from Leeuwarden. The police arrested the two men in Joure on Monday. They are in restricted custody, which means that they are only allowed contact with their lawyers.
The police are investigating how Al Najjar died and what happened to her between the time of her disappearance on May 22 and her body being found. Investigators asked witnesses to come forward.
