Up to 10cm of snow, heavy winds in tonight's weather warning

Snow, storms and heavy winds are heading towards the Netherlands tonight and tomorrow, Weeronline predicts. Some inland areas including the Veluwe, the Sallandse Heuvelrug, the Limgburg Heuvels, Twente and Achterhoek may even get 5 to 10 centimeters of snow tonight.

The KNMI issued a code yellow weather warning for all provinces except the coastal ones. The meteorological institute warns that snow could cause icy, slick roads. "All traffic participants can experience hindrance. Adjust your driving behavior. Follow weather reports and warnings", the institute warns.

According to Weeronline, heavy gusts of 90 kilometers per hour can be expected along the coast tonight. And up to a staggering 115 kilometers an hour along the coast on Friday. On Friday afternoon the windchill will bring the already freezing -2 degrees Celsius down to feeling a devastating -7 degrees.

The weather service also warns that the weather conditions can have a severe impact on traffic. Keep an eye on weather and traffic reports, the service advises.
