Second fire at Schagen youth institution

A fire raged in an institution for young people with mental disabilities in Schagen early on Monday morning. Firefighters managed to get it under control within the hour. No one was injured, ANP reports.

The fire started on the ground floor of a residential unit of the Prinsenstichting in institution De Schar. Residents were evacuated and given shelter in a gym on the grounds. The cause of the fire is still unclear.

This is the second fire at De Schar in less than a week. On Wednesday eight people sustained smoke inhalation injuries in another fire. Four of them had to be hospitalized.
