One killed in Utrecht shooting

One person was killed in a shooting in De Meern, Utrecht on Friday, the police reported on Twitter. The shooting happened on Rijksstraatweg around 12:15 p.m. The circumstances surrounding the incident is still very unclear. Emergency services tried to resuscitate the victim, but to no avail. The police will say nothing about the victim's identity until the family was informed. Rijksstraatweg and the bus lane are both closed for the investigation. A police helicopter was deployed to help search for the perpetrator.
