Reward offered for Amsterdam serial rapist tip

The Public Prosecutor offered a 12,500 euro reward for the tip that leads to the arrest of a man suspected of raping three women in Amsterdam over the cause of four days. The rapes happened late in January on H.J.E Wenckebachweg, Maassluisstraat and Sloterplas. All three victims are in their early 20's and were attacked while cycling home after an evening out in Amsterdam center, mainly near Leidseplein and Museumplein. The perpetrator is a man between 20 and 25 years old, with tanned skin and is about 1.8 meters tall. The first attack happened around 2:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 28th. The victim was cycling from the city center towards her home. On H.J.E Wenckebachweg a male cyclist fell down behind the woman and seemed to be in a lot of pain. The woman stopped, the man grabbed her and dragged her towards the bushes on the side of the bike path, where he raped her. Both the victim and the rapist's bikes remained on the bike path. A passerby took the perpetrator's bike. The perpetrator left on the victim's bike - a purple bike with the text "Topmodel" on the frame. The police would like to find this bicycle. Surveillance camera footage also shows the perpetrator cycling behind another young woman with long blond hair and a backpack on the Weesperzijde along the river Amstel shortly before the rape. Investigators would like to talk to this woman. The second attack happened two days later, during the early hours of Saturday, January 30th. A young woman cycled home from Leidseplein. Surveillance camera footage shows that she was not followed initially, but on Heestedestraat a man can be seen cycling a short distance behind her. The woman arrived at her home on Maassluisstraat. She walked passed two doors and stepped into the elevator, where the perpetrator attacked her. The perpetrator raped her in the elevator and then fled with her phone. The victim's phone was sold a week later by a man in a sop on Jan Everstenstraat. The man can clearly be seen on surveillance camera footage. It is not clear whether this man is the rapist or whether he got hold of the phone in a different way, but the police would like to talk to anyone who recognizes him.

The third attack happened in the early hours of the following morning, Sunday January 31st. The victim cycled home from the Museumplein through Vondelpark. Near the World Fashion Center a man can be seen following her. At the Sloterplas the woman is grabbed and dragged into the bushes, where she is raped. That is the last report that the police can connect to the perpetrator, so it seems that he made no further victims. The police would still like to talk to women who may have been approached by this man in January or February. https://youtu.be/e8fP5Kw-iU0
