Rome riots: Feyenoord hooligan face eight months in jail

The Public Prosecutor demanded one prison sentence and three sentences of community service against the first four Feyenoord fans involved in the Rome riots whose cases appeared in the court of Rotterdam on Friday, the Telegraaf reports. The first suspect, Berry K. from Vlaardingen, was not present in court. Against him the Public Prosecutor demanded 8 months in prison, three of which conditional. This is the most severe sentence demanded so far. The demand is so severe because the suspect has two prior convictions for public violence. The other three suspects - brothers Berend and Roelof D. from Genemuiden and Marnix K. from Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht - were present in court. Against them the Public Prosecutor demanded community service ranging from 100 to 200 hours and completely suspended prison sentences. In addition to these sentences, the Public Prosecutor also wants the suspects banned from the area around football stadium De Kuip. And they have to report to the police station in their hometown 15 minutes before every game. All three the suspects who actually appeared in court stated that they regret their role in the Riots, which happened in February this year.
