Netherlands: moment of silence at 12 p.m. for Paris victims

The Netherlands will commemorate the victims of the Paris attacks with a minute of silence at noon on Monday. Public transport and public broadcasting will be quiet for 60 seconds. All flags on government buildings are hanging at half-mast and memorials have also been arranged in several places in the Netherlands. All NS trains will stop just before noon and resume travel after the minute of silence. Announcers at on all train stations in the Netherlands will announce the commemoration just before 12:00 p.m. and no travel announcements will be made for the next 60 seconds, RTL Nieuws reports. Buses and trains of carriers Connexxion, Arriva and Breng are also taking part in this action. Schiphol airport will also be observing the minute of silence. The airport is looking into whether it will be possible to keep all planes grounded for that minute. Radio and television will also go quiet for a minute at noon. All public and regional broadcasters are observing the minute of silence. Commemorative events for the Paris attacks victims will be happening in, among others, Utrecht, Amstelveen, Amersfoort, Nijmegen and Rheden.
