Kilos of cocaine, marijuana found in banana & potato chip shipments

Thursday was a big day for drug busts in the Dutch province of Noord-Brabant. Authorities there made two major busts, with investigators seizing nearly a ton of cocaine and marijuana combined. Regional customs officers based in Roosendaal intercepted a shipment of cocaine with an estimated street value of between 10 and 15 million euros, and totaling about 300 kilograms, the government revealed on Thursday. Packages of the drug were found hidden in a container of vats filled with banana pulp. The authorities found the container at a depot in Heijningen. The shipment arrived from Ecuador. It is one of the largest cocaine finds in Noord-Brabant in the last few years, noted broadcaster Omroep Brabant. Meanwhile, police in Breda discovered about 600 kilograms of cannabis hidden among bags of potato chips. Neither the sender nor intended recipient of the "well packed" marijuana shipment is known, police said on Twitter. The drugs have an estimated street value of 2.3 million euros, police announced. No arrests were made in either case.
