Feyenoord fan racism, brawling: Empty stadium, €50k fine likely

Feyenoord could face empty stadiums and a fine of 50 thousand euros due to the bad behavior of their fans, the football club said on their website today. UEAFA is accusing Feyenoord of racist behavior and throwing objects on the field during the Europa League match against AS Roma in February. The club received a document from UEAFA that explains the ruling by the specially appointed UEFA inspector that is investigating the Feyenoord vs AS Roma match in the Europa League on February 26th. Feyenoord fans threw multiple objects on the field, including an inflatable banana that landed near AS Roma’s Ivory Coast striker Gervinho. The UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body still has to make a final ruling. For racist behavior by the fans the inspector wants to penalize Feyenoord with playing the next home match connected to UEAFA without an audience and a fine of 50 thousand euros. The inspector also condemned Feyenoord for their fans throwing objects and fireworks on the field and blocking the stairs. For this he wants the football club to pay another 50 thousand euros fine and a suspended sentence of one UEFA home match played without audience with a two years probation period. It is not clear when UEFA will make the final judgement.
