Voting begins in 2015 provincial elections

Polling stations across the the Netherlands opened for the election of the Provincial Council and water board this morning. Most polling stations will be open between 07:30 a.m. and 21:00 p.m. The first polling station for commuters opened at 05:00 a.m. at Nijmegen station and Castricum station. Commuters can cast their votes at a total of 58 train stations this year, including Amsterdam Centraal, Rotterdam Centraal, Den Haag Centraal, Utrecht Centraal, Zwolle, Eindhoven and Amersfoort. There are also polling stations at train stations in smaller towns such as Zevenbergen, Meppel, Nijmegen and Venray. Some of the polling stations at the train stations will only be open during the morning rush hour, while others will only close at 21:00, when voting closes and counting begins.
