Man shot dead as Amsterdam gang war intensifies

Another shooting in Amsterdam has ended in death. The victim was found wounded at cafe Riverside in Rijnstraat. He died moments later of his injuries. This shooting occurred only 24 hours after the 34 year old Luana Luz Xavier was shot and killed in Amstelveen. Luz Xavier's murder is very probably linked to the gang war that has been raging in Amsterdam over the past two years. Last night the police received a report that someone was unwell. "When we got there we found a wounded man on the corner of Rijnstraat and Uiterwaardenstraat. He appeared to have a gunshot wound and was resuscitated in the street", said a police spokesperson. The police can not say with certainty if the man was shot there or at another location. The identity of the man is still unknown. It is still unclear whether there is a connection between the incident in Amstelveen on Monday and this incident in Rijnstraat last night. It is also not known whether this latest victim was connected to the Amsterdam underworld in any way.
