Hema suddenly shuts three franchises

Three branches of department store Hema were forced to close their doors this weekend. These stores were in Nijkerk, Hoevelaken and Kerkrade. All three of these stores were franchisees in the group. A spokesperson for Hema Netherlands said that the company has ceased supplies to the branches in Nijkerk and Hoevelaken due to financial problems with the franchisees, De Telegraaf reports. The store in Nijkerk was closed on Saturday at 16:00 pm, while shoppers were still present. The spokesperson for Hema Netherlands said that the closure of other Hema stores is not on the cards.
