Elderly woman in wheelchair "brutally" mugged

The police are looking for witnesses to the brutal robbery of an 84 year old woman from Breda. The incident occurred on Friday night, September 12th, at around 10:15 pm on a footpath on Maaseikstraat. The victim was driving in her electric wheelchair on the sidewalk in the direction of the Tuincentrum when a man stepped in before her. The man hit her in the face with a sharp object and grabbed her purse out her shopping bag. He ran off in the direction of the Tuincentrum. The suspect wore black leather gloves and a dark colored ski mask. He wore a light colored jacket with a colored shirt underneath and dark blue jeans. The police ask that anyone who witnessed the crime contact them at once. They are particularly looking for a woman who has two large shepherd dogs and who spoke to the victim shortly after the robbery.
