Man injures leg in two-story police escape attempt
A 26-year old man jumped from a second-story window of a police station in Doelen on Tuesday, injuring his leg. He leapt from the building trying to escape arrest, the police reports.
The man executed his escape attempt at around 7 p.m. He injured his leg, but was otherwise fine. An ambulance brought him to the police department.
A trauma helicopter was brought in as well, and landed on the side of the A6 so that the mobile medical team could provide assistance. The ambulance then took him to the hospital.
The arrestee was temporarily held at the police station in Lelystad in order to be transported further to the penitentiary. Investigations are being done to discover how the man was able to escape through the window, and why he did so.
