Four held for threatening cops

Police arrested four men in Terneuzen Sunday evening who threatened and tried to obstruct officers who were confiscating a stolen scooter.

The incident took place at Vondel straat around 11.00pm. When the officers tried to seize the scooter they recognized as stolen, some 20 men surrounded them and started making threats at their lives. With the help of backup police officers and marechaussee, the scooter was still confiscated. Aided by police dogs, the officers then got on the trail of the men who threatened their colleagues. Three of them -aged (22, 25 and 37 ) were arrested shortly after, as was the 22-year-old who had been riding the stolen scooter.
