Home intruder caught hiding like a toddler in overturned rubbish bin

Following a report of a possible break-in in Zoetermeer earlier this week, the police found a man attempting to hide in a garden. His hiding skills were less than stellar, and cops quickly found him attempting to conceal himself under an overturned rubbish bin.

The incident happened on Tuesday evening. The police responded to reports of a possible home invasion in the Rokkeveen area with multiple officers, both in uniform and plain clothes. They searched the area and quickly tracked down the intruder.

“He tried to hide in a garden, but without success,” the Zoetermeer police wrote on Facebook, posting a photo of the person with his head and torso hidden in an overturned bin, but his legs sticking out plainly.

According to the police, the man was homeless and seeking a place to sleep for the night. “After a conversation, the situation could be handled calmly.”
