Teen on dirt bike dies after collision with tractor in Achtmaal, police say
A 13-year-old boy from Achtmaal died Saturday after his dirt bike collided with a tractor on an unpaved road in the Noord-Brabant village, police said.
The crash occurred around midday on Minnelingsebrugstraat, a sand and dirt track where the teen, riding a crossmotor, struck a tractor. Police said medical crews, including an emergency helicopter, responded immediately. The boy was taken to a hospital in critical condition and later died from his injuries.
Police confirmed the death Saturday evening, saying the teenager had been severely injured when officers and medics arrived.
Police said it is not yet known what caused the crash. Investigators from the police traffic unit, working with the forensic traffic investigation team, are examining how the collision happened.
