Amsterdam event shines spotlight on women’s health, menopause, and mental wellness
More than 80 experts, clinicians, and advocates will gather in Amsterdam for the Connected Health Weekend on September 27–28, addressing women’s health, perimenopause, menopause, and mental wellness.
The event comes as research shows over a third of working women in the Netherlands are in perimenopause or menopause, yet, according to the organizers, women’s health remains underrepresented in both healthcare and workplace policy.
The two-day program, led by Womanship founder Nicolette Lazarus and podcast host Suzanne Rethans, includes workshops, panels, and talks on hormones, sexuality, mental resilience, fertility, and workplace challenges. Menopause specialist Dr. Louise Newson from the UK will join Dutch and Belgian experts to provide evidence-based guidance and personal stories.
Only 29 percent of women report fully sharing their health concerns. At the same time, 74 percent say they feel better when speaking in a safe space, Womanship research shows.
Lazarus said, “Women are not taken seriously enough by the health sector. We’re told to keep going, to keep quiet, to put others first. But our health, our hormones, and our stories deserve centre stage.”
