Car bursts into flames after collision in The Hague, multiple injured
A car caught fire after a crash at an intersection in The Hague early Saturday, leaving multiple people injured and prompting a large emergency response, police said.
According to Omroep West, the collision happened around 3:10 a.m. at the junction of Goudenregenstraat and Segbroeklaan. Two cars slammed into each other and were heavily damaged.
One vehicle veered onto the sidewalk and burst into flames, while the other landed in the grass and came to a stop with its side against a tree. Photos from the scene show scattered car parts left on the road.
Four ambulances, a trauma helicopter, firefighters, and police responded. Several occupants were treated at the scene and taken to a hospital. The intersection was completely closed off as investigators examined the site.
Transit operator HTM said tram 12 was diverted Saturday morning due to the closure. The tram did not stop between Markenseplein and Goudenregenplein.
