Showers to give way to drier, warmer weather from Wednesday
The Netherlands is in for a few more rainy days, but the weather will turn warmer, drier, and sunnier from Thursday, the KNMI expects. After multiple relatively cool days, thermometers should approach 30 degrees Celsius again by the weekend.
The coming days won’t be sunless. The sun will peek through the clouds periodically between the showers.
Monday will be mostly cloudy, with rain in the north in the afternoon. Maximums will range between 20 degrees in the north to up to 25 degrees in the southeast. The southwesterly wind will be moderate, but could be strong along the coast and the IJsselmeer later in the afternoon.
Tonight will be cloudy, with showers spreading from the northwest to the rest of the country. Minimums will range between 12 and 16 degrees, from north to south.
Tuesday will start sunny, with some showers in the north. By afternoon, there will be showers across the country, with only the southeast remaining dry. Maximums will range between 17 and 21 degrees, with a moderate westerly wind that could be strong along the coast.
From Wednesday, it will be “predominantly dry with increasing temperatures,” the KNMI said. By the weekend, maximums will climb to 28 degrees.
That weather picture will last into next week. “High probability (70%) of mainly dry and fairly warm summer weather,” the KNMI said.
