Woman shot inside home in Amsterdam-Zuidoost; Police hunt suspect
A woman was injured in a shooting inside a home on Nieuwlandhof in Amsterdam-Zuidoost Saturday evening, police said. She was found with a gunshot wound in the apartment building’s entrance and taken to the hospital, according to Het Parool.
The shooting occurred around 5:45 p.m., according to police. Officers who responded to the scene discovered the wounded woman in the portico of the residence. She was still conscious when emergency services arrived and was transported urgently to the hospital for treatment.
Authorities have not released the identity of the woman or the nature of her injuries. Police confirmed she had sustained a gunshot wound.
A search is underway for one or more suspects. Police have not confirmed how many individuals may have been involved in the shooting. Investigators are asking for witnesses and anyone with relevant information about the incident to contact police.
