Driver arrested after collision kills 17-year-old fatbike rider in Oss

A 36-year-old man has been arrested following a fatal collision in Oss that killed a 17-year-old boy riding a fatbike Saturday night. The suspect, who is also from the Noord-Brabant city, remains in custody as police investigate the circumstances of the crash.

The incident occurred around 11 p.m. on Joannes Zwijsenlaan. According to police, the victim—who was from Oss—was riding a fatbike when he collided with a car. He did not survive the crash.

The driver was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the accident, police said Sunday. A police spokesperson confirmed the man is being questioned to determine his role in the incident.

“It still needs to be established whether he committed a criminal offense,” the spokesperson said. A passenger in the vehicle was also interviewed by police but has not been taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing.
