Suspect in rap musician Bigidagoe's murder facing 16 years in prison
The Public Prosecution Service (OM) has recommended 16 years in prison against Shairone S. (21) for fatally shooting Danzel Silos (26), also known as the rap musician Bigidagoe.
The victim was shot on February 25, 2024, at around 05:30 a.m. This happened just after a party in a party center on the Rhoneweg near the Amsterdam Sloterdijk station. “A tragic death,” the prosecutor said on Friday in the court in Amsterdam.
The suspect confessed to shooting at the group which the victim was a part of. He fired four shots after an argument with a weapon that he had been handed. The rap musician who was a part of the music group Zone 6 was hit in the heart, liver, and kidney.
"The ease with which the suspect asked friends for a firearm and then started shooting is unprecedented,” said the prosecutor. “In all his anger, he wanted to be taken home to get a gun there. When this did not happen fast enough, he asked his friends for a gun.”
She described the suspect’s use of weapons as reckless. “Running with a firearm in his hands, he went towards Silos and his friends. He did not think about the consequences and caused irreparable damage. Firearms seem to be a given for the suspect, a part of his life. But firearms are not normal.”
S.’s punishment may be increased due to the place where he shot the victim, which was in the middle of the street in a public area. “It was busy. Many of the partygoers were on their way home. The chance of another person being hit by a bullet was unfathomably large.”
Bigidagoe was awaiting the result of a trial at the moment of his passing. The Public Prosecution Service had recommended a four-year prison sentence against him regarding a case in which he allegedly kidnapped a rival rapper.
